Done DSC_3892.jpgTrust Art Comp Update

Given the current restrictions, we are pushing back the deadline for this year’s Trust Art Competition to later in the year. We are unable to accept submissions for the competition at this time so please do hang on to your artworks until such time as we are able to receive them in person. We will keep you informed about this.

Online ArtGallery Launch

We would like to invite you to submit photographs of your artwork instead via email. Selected artworks will be exhibited in a virtual gallery here, so you can see what other people have getting up to creatively. We hope this will be a bit of fun as well as a source of inspiration for everyone and an opportunity to exhibit your work.

See below for full details on how to enter, FAQs and how to get help with submitting work.

ArtGallery FAQs

What kind of work can I submit?

Anything! You can send us photographs of anything creative on any theme you been making, painting, drawing, collaging sculpting etc etc. You can also submit photography.

Can I submit photographs to the ArtGallery?

Yes, you can submit photography.

Can I send photos of sculpture or other 3D work?

Yes, you can submit sculpture and 3D work (images of).

How many artworks can I submit?

We are relaxing the usual Art Comp rules so that you can submit one artwork per week. So the usual rules about only three pieces in total doesn't apply, as in theory you could send us something every week if you are feeling particularly prolific.

Who can enter work?

MPFT staff, inpatient and outpatient service users, former service users, plus the family, friends and carers of any of those people are all welcome to submit work.

Will all the work submitted be displayed?

Selected entries will be exhibited in the ArtGallery. We will do our best to display as many as possible.

When will I see my work in the ArtGallery?

We will do our best to upload selected submissions on a weekly basis. It may be between one and two weeks before selected artworks go live.

Can children get involved?

Yes! Children can submit entries for the ArtGallery. We’d love to see some of the beautiful rainbows children have been creating for their windows for example or any other artwork they have been making.

Will you show my name?

We will credit people's artworks by name if you want us to. There is a space on the entry form where you can tell us whether you want us to show your name or not and how you want to be credited (e.g. first name only) so let us know your preference. We won't use surnames for entrants under 16 and will only display first names of entrants under 16 with permission.

Where is the ArtGallery?

The ArtGallery is on the Arts for Health website here.

What camera should I use?

You can use any digital camera including a phone camera.

What file size/resolution/file type should I send my photos at?

Please send hi-res JPEGs at around A3 size (or approx 40cm on the long edge) if you can or alternatively just use the best quality settings on your camera or phone. The reason for this is that although the work is for display online, we sometimes get requests for prints of images for use in enhancing our inpatient settings and high quailty files will enable to do this.

Get Help with Submitting Work

I'm a staff member wanting to submit inpatient work, can I get some help with it?
